The recommended height difference between the low and high points for a Hypar Shade Sail is 15% of the sail's longest side. For example, if the longest side is 6 meters, the height difference should be 900mm, and if it is 20 feet, the difference should be 3 feet.

If installed flat or with less than 15% height difference, the sail will be difficult to tension adequately and may belly in the middle and flap, which shortens the fabric's life and causes wear on the hardware. Read more here about the importance of varying heights.
